Josh Tickell is the director of Fuel (2008), a documentary about biodiesel and the US energy crisis. The film, which won the Audience Award at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, focuses on Tickell's efforts in the past two decades to promote the alternative fuel, work that started while he was a student at New College. In 1997, he undertook the 2,500-mile Veggie Van Voyage, a tour of the US promoting alternative fuel in his biodiesel-powered Winnebago, named the "Veggie Van." He is author of two books on alternative fuels, and founded the Biodiesel America Organization, selected by President Bill Clinton to be part of his Global Initiative on Climate Change in 2005.
